Jazz Lovers - Here's the name of a GREAT jazz film recommended by the founder of the Newport Jazz Festival

George Wein, founder of the Newport Jazz Festival 60 years ago now a frail 88 years old, was stellar in introducing the jazz film, Jazz on a Summer's Day that depicts the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival  when he spoke last week at the National Archives.  How disappointing to see such a small audience at Archives.  BUT the DVD is available, and I can see why George raved about it.  Some of the greats giving outstanding performances were:
Thelodious Monk
Anita O'DAy
Chuck Berry
Louis Armstrong
Jack Teagarden
Mahalia Jackson
Sonny Stitt
George Shearing
Gerry Mulligan
Dinah Washington
Willis Conover

Hope you can find it and enjoy it.
